Due dates

Add due dates to issues to keep time-sensitive work visible.

Overview

Issues with a due date show a calendar icon on the list or board. The icon is red when the issue is due today or overdue, orange when due within a week, and gray otherwise. The chip shows Overdue, Due today, or the date.

If you do not see the icon, open Display options (Shift V) and enable Due Date under Display properties.

Add due date

  • Use the shortcut Shift D when viewing or selecting an issue
  • Open the issue and edit Due date
  • During create, open the menu and choose Set due date

Presets include Tomorrow, End of this week, In one week, and — when the issue is on a team with cycles — End of this cycle or End of next cycle. Choose Custom… for a specific day.

To clear a date, use Cmd/Ctrl Shift D or Remove due date. You can also set or clear dates in bulk from a selected list.

A form template can ask for a due date. Standard templates cannot bake one in.

Filter by due date

Press F on an issue list and add a Due date filter. Choose before or after, then a relative time such as 1 day from now, 1 week from now, or 3 months from now, or pick a custom date.

Saved views can pin that filter.

Sort by due date

On list views, open Display options and select Ordering: Due date to sort.
