Create issues
Create issues for a team, set properties, and link them to projects and cycles.
Create issues
Issues capture executable work on a team backlog.
Quick create
Open Issues for a team, a project, or My issues.
Press C or click New issue.
Enter a title (required).
Choose the team (pre-filled when opened from a team context).
Set Status, Assignee, Priority, and other properties as needed.
Optionally link a Project, Cycle, or Release.
Save. The issue appears on boards and lists for that team.
Create from a template
- Open the issue composer.
- Open the Template picker beside the team selector.
- Choose a standard or form template.
- Answer form questions if prompted; review pre-filled fields.
- Create.
Direct template links open the composer with the template preselected. See Issue templates.
Create sub-issues
Break large issues apart:
- Open a parent issue.
- Add a sub-issue from the sub-issue section or composer.
- Sub-issues inherit team context; track completion roll-up on the parent.
Sub-issue depth limits may apply when created from templates (see Templates).

- Can be moved to a team later when work becomes shared
Expected result
A created issue should:
- Appear on the team's issue list and board
- Respect the team's workflow rules
- Show in the project, cycle, or release you linked
Next
