Format issue and document text with Markdown, the toolbar, slash commands, and mentions.

Overview

The editor supports most Markdown. Type Markdown or paste it and Pulse converts it to rich text.

You can also highlight text for the styling toolbar, or type / for slash commands. The same editor is used on issues, documents, and other long-form fields.

The placeholder reads Add a description… or type / for commands.

Formatting

These styles work with Markdown, the toolbar, or /. Type / and choose from Headings, Lists, Media, Blocks, and Inline.

Text styling

  • **text** for bold text
  • _text_ for italicized text
  • ~~text~~ or Cmd/Ctrl Shift X to strikethrough
  • `text` or Cmd/Ctrl E for inline code
  • # then Space for Heading 1
  • ## then Space for Heading 2
  • ### then Space for Heading 3

Lists

  • Bulleted list, Numbered list, Checklist, To-do list

Other formatting options

  • Code block, Diagram, Collapsible section, Table, Blockquote, Callout
  • Table of contents, 3 columns, Date, Inline equation

Attachments

Choose Attach files… from the slash menu, or drag and drop files into the editor.

Embeds

Choose Insert media… or Insert GIF… from the slash menu.

@ Mentions

Type @ to mention a user, issue, request, project, initiative, objective, key result, metric, team, document, comment, or milestone.

Mentioning a user notifies them. Type @Pulse Agent in a comment to invoke the agent in that thread. See Comments and reactions.
