Overview
Initiative and project updates are a health indicator plus a written summary. Health is On Track, At Risk, or Off Track. Status (lifecycle) stays on the initiative or project itself.
Initiative updates cover the workstream. Project updates cover one project's progress, risks, and next steps. The latest update appears on the overview. History lives on the Activity tab. Workspace-wide, they also appear in Pulse (/status-updates).
Basics
Create Initiative and Project updates
Updates are written from the initiative or project overview.
To post an update:
- Open the initiative or project
- Click Update, or Write first project update / Write first initiative update if none exist yet
- Choose health — On Track, At Risk, or Off Track
- Write the summary. Attach images, files, or videos if you need them
- Click Post update
View Initiative and Project updates
The most recent update sits on the overview. On initiative and project lists, health reflects the latest update — On track, At risk, Off track, or No updates.
Anyone who can open the record can read updates.
The Pulse sidebar (G then U) collects updates across projects and initiatives you follow.
Activity tab
Open Activity (or See all) for history. New updates are composed from the overview Update action or from the focused composer on Activity.
Progress reports for Initiatives and Projects
When you draft a project update, Pulse can include what changed since the last one (dates, lead, milestones, overall progress). Hide those details before posting if you want a narrative only.
Manage notifications
Subscribe from the project or initiative … menu: Subscribe to project notifications…. Unsubscribe the same way.
Personal delivery is Settings → Notifications. Inbox includes Project updates (someone posted a status update) and Project activity (comments and other changes on projects you follow). Initiative activity is a separate category.
Initiative and project update comments
React or comment on the update thread to discuss. Those comments are project (or initiative) activity, not a separate inbox category.
Agent assisted updates
Choose Write with Agent to draft from recent changes, then edit and post.
