Project overview

See properties, description, milestones, documents, and the latest update in one place.

The overview is the project's summary page.

Overview

Open a project and stay on the Overview tab. You get the name, short summary, properties, description, milestones, resources, and the latest status update.

The other tabs are Issues, Activity, and Customers.

Keyboard

Press G then P to open Projects, then open a row.

Mouse

Click a project in a list, board, or Timeline. Click Show sidebar or Hide sidebar to open or close the details pane.

Command menu

Open the command menu with Cmd/Ctrl K and search for the project by name.

Basics

Project properties

Properties sit under the summary. Click a field to add or edit it.

  • Status — defaults to Idea
  • Lead — one person
  • Teams — one or more teams, unless the project is Personal
  • Start date / Target date
  • Members
  • Priority, Labels, Initiative
  • DependenciesBlocked by and Blocking

The name and summary edit in place. The description is the long writeup, not the 50-character suffix.

Under Resources, choose Add document or link… then Add a link… to attach a URL. Copy URL, Open link, or Delete resource from the resource menu.

Project documents

New document or Create new document… starts a document on this project. Existing documents can live here too.

Detailed description

The description uses the same editor as issues. You can mention people and link other work. Open Show description history from the project menu when you need earlier versions.

Milestones

The overview lists milestones so you can add, reorder, date, and describe them without leaving the page.

Project details sidebar

The sidebar repeats properties, milestones, progress, and resources. It is available from Overview and from Issues.

Project graph

The project graph lives here under Progress.
