Peek preview

Preview an issue from a list or board, or an issue or project from Search, without opening the full page.

Preview issue details without leaving the list.

Overview

Peek shows a focused issue in an overlay, similar to Quick Look on macOS. It is available on issue lists and issue boards. Search also peeks issues and projects into a side panel.

On narrow viewports peek is off, and Space scrolls the page.

Keyboard

Tap Space to pin peek open. Press Space again to close it.

Hold Space to preview only while the key is down; release to close.

Esc closes peek. A second Esc clears list focus.

Mouse

Peek opens from the keyboard, not from a click. Hover a row or card so it is the target, then press Space.

Using peek

If peek is available, press Space on the focused or hovered issue. A short tap keeps the overlay open. A longer hold shows it only until you release.

While peek is open, and move to the adjacent issue and update the preview. On a board, and move to the nearest non-empty column.

Esc closes peek.

Basics

Issue peek shows the identifier, title, and a preview of the main document, plus assignee, status, priority, project, milestone, cycle, labels, estimate, and created age when those fields are set. Future due dates can appear; due dates that are today or overdue stay on the list, not in the overlay.

Search peek for an issue or project opens the entity in a side panel with favorite and actions. Other search hits navigate to the entity instead of peeking.

Command menu

In the command menu, focus an issue and press ArrowRight (or the footer Quick look) to preview it. ArrowLeft closes Quick look. Quick look is available for issues, not every result type.
