Priority
Set issue urgency with team priority levels and filter by priority.
Priority
Priority signals how urgently an issue should be handled relative to other work on the same team.
Priority levels
Teams use ordered priority levels (for example Urgent, High, Medium, Low — exact names depend on workspace configuration). Priority appears:
- On issue lists and boards
- In composer and detail panels
- In filters and saved views
Set priority when creating or editing an issue, or with bulk actions on a selection.
When to set priority
Use priority when:
- Triage needs a clear ordering among similar issues
- Cycle planning must surface urgent work first
- Stakeholders need visibility into escalations
Priority complements status (where work is in the workflow) and estimate (size of work).
Filter and sort
Open filters with F on issue lists. Match one or several priorities, or sort by priority ascending or descending.
Saved views can pin priority filters for recurring triage or stand-up boards.
Templates and requests
Issue templates can pre-set priority. Request templates can default priority for incoming intake. See Templates.
Permissions
Updating priority requires permission to edit the issue. Some workspaces restrict who may set Urgent — check with your admin if priority controls are limited.
